In 1920, Dr. Banting's hypothesis sparked the discovery of insulin in London, Ontario. Two years later at a Toronto Hospital 180km away, the first injection of insulin was given that changed lives and history forever. This year, we our making time to complete the #UniteTheCircle challenge! We are leading 1 of 30 teams to fundraise and move a collective 180km together on World Diabetes Day. Supporting those living and affected by diabetes is important to us because Hamilton has so many children and families affected by diabetes.
Our club used our monthly membership meeting to have an evening walk to Hamilton City Hall to virtually join other fundraisers across Canada to find a cure for Diabetes. We invited fellow clubs from Dunnville, Hamilton East and others to participate and we together we donated $3,000.00 to Diabetes Canada towards a cure.
